Partially true, but I bet a lot of passive investors would tire of holding land if the appreciation thing turned around. Look at where the Government safety net is if the ethanol thing runs its course, It's not as high as it was in the early eighties, loan was 2.75, they would pay you to build storage, rotate reserve corn etc. How much corn can you raise for $2.50 or so with today's input costs?(2.50 appox level of support, not target price since not payed on all producction etc.)
