SE Georgia
I'm a cotton, peanut ,corn, cattle, and produce farmer from se georgia.I farm about 4000 acres, and have 500 brood cows and would be considered an average size farmer around here. I'm kind of like eddiedry in that i have 20 pivots and some drip irrigation.I spend some time in a tractor during planting, but other times I live in a pick up. I think I run pretty big equipment, but I still have about 6 employees to cover the acres.I have trouble believing anyone could farm 8000 acres by himself no matter how much passion he has.I guess if this thread is about economies of scale Steve should be the resident expert,if it is about exaggerating a little, then he might have a little experience in that area also.I would also admit that I have never been to SD so it may be possible .If he told this story around here you would probably hear "bless his heart" somewhere in somebodies response .
