That was likely true but farmland is record expensive on a price earnings basis today and the stock market is not. Diverification is a good thing can remember being turned down for a loan on a $900 dollar an acre farm when I had half to put down in 87 not sure our margins will be much wider in 08 than they were back then, you could put a corn crop out for about $70 an acre.
