It certainly changes the labor requirements when you throw irrigation into the mix.

I haven't searched for Steve's thread about harvesting so I don't know how he does it. 'Here' it would be impossible to do it all alone in a timely manner. It takes a minimum of seven men to run our corn harvest crew and 2 more to tend irrigation water all day (normally its 4+ watering but we're winding down). One combine in good corn will keep 4 trucks and 2 grain carts hopping. Yesterday we shelled just over 22,000 bu and need to do it everyday for a while just so we can get to the rice before its overdry.

I'm really not looking forward to trying to run 2 combines in the rice and a cotton picking crew at the same time.
