I went to university with a dairy kid, and he was a great guy. They are hard workers, have to be. BUT up here in Canada, a massive inheritance is the only way at this point to enter the industry. The kids who take over, are in better shape, because as he put it, the bank will lend you money, as fast as you can print it! IE. milking in Canada is like printing money!!!

My point is, I respect them. Alot! Even if they are in a money printing industry. Just because they can print money, does not mean they do not work for what they get. I think in Sask. with cheap land and cheap hay and barley, the money machine does better than most sections of the country...

as long as they keep supply management, it will be a profitable venture. I don't agree with government intervention, but good for the dairy guys, I like milk and cheese!
