To billonthefarm, your last sentence says it all. My brother and I farm together and are pretty small. We both work full-time jobs however and also do quite a bit of hay and he raises livestock. We really don’t have the time to spray, I’ve owned a few sprayers in the past but I could just never be as timely as I should have. My brother still has a small 300 gallon sprayer for very small odd shaped fields but we have our local co-op do the majority of the spraying and it’s worked out pretty well. If we farmed full-time I would say the answer would be different and maybe someday it will be but for right now this works for us . I would say everyone’s situation is unique

I have hired help and it’s one of the ways I justify it. Locally operations that have no help or work off farm hire it done and I completely understand that.
