there is a lot of research to do to do your own spraying these days. which tips to use for certain chemicals for example. Expanded liability if certain chemicals drift. Its getting more complicated. but if you put in the work to learn what you need to, it might be a good idea.


That right there is the reason I don’t like spraying anymore. We used to do all of our spraying with an 800 gal, 60 foot pullltype . Covered 1500 acres a year how ever many trips it took for thirty years. Didn’t used to be as many as now. Now it seems every field has at least one if not 2 houses, and they seem to all have a garden plot so we have to be careful and pick days when winds are most favorable, or do part of the field and come back a different day sometimes. Then you can’t really set a schedule for spraying. It has to be done when conditions are right and crop and weeds are right time, so then you just have to stop a different job in the middle and go spray. Just seems for what they charge, it’s not hardly worth the hassle.
