NC | If you think you can make it work I say buy as new as possible. Everyone's situation is different. The way I operate a custom sprayer would basically have to stay parked at our place and not get to far away. Yes if we had to hire it done we would probably do a little more planning ahead and try to work with them but I like not relying on anyone but me. We aren't a strictly corn bean operation so when I finally get in the sprayer I need to be able to load up and get as much done as fast as possible. I try to keep mine updated because I want something reliable especially if I need to put preemerge chemicals down on a Saturday night to beat a heavy rain. I Don't know exactly where the line is but if you're going to buy something older you have to work on you might as well hire it done, you don't want to make a sprayer payment and be buying expensive parts. It's been said on this forum in the past that it's hard to put a hard number on the value of owning your own sprayer. | |
