Subject: Section control!

Make darn sure you get section control on sprayer if you buy something. It has a quick payback.

I have an old 854 rowgator ($25,000 on a good day), with almost 5000 hours on it. I think a put 100 hours a year on it. Probably half that is loading and driving to the fields (all are close by). I put a Deere auto steer wheel in it, and a Deere rate controller with section control, and replumbed the boom for 10 sections. Some day I’d love to have a better riding machine in the feild.

As other posters have mentioned, ease into it with a big used pull type with section control. Do some post spraying and mix your own. No need to go whole hog the first year. I have sprayed most of mine for years, but have the co-op spray some burn down when labor is tight during springs work, and had them spray my wheat when I was busy side dressing corn, etc….
