The thing is it is not so much against an 854, but with all of the other options out there for not many more dollars, the 854 is not a great option comparatively imo. If you already have one, great, but look hard at what else is available in your price range if you are buying a sprayer. Smaller sprayers can bring a premium just like smaller combines and headers so don't shy away from a big sprayer solely because you think you don't have enough acres imo fwiw.

Also, since the OP threw out the casual 250k and he farms 2000 acres of table top land in one big chunk using rtk and has irrigation, I seriously doubt he is going to even consider an 854. Might as well get something that has same monitors his 2 year old tractors and combines have.....a new pull type would be a better option than an antique self propelled.


Can’t really fault this line of thinking, as when we started shopping the SP market we considered 854s but ended up in a 4410 Patriot for not a huge amount more money. Nobody here has ever regretted a 1200 gallon tank or the extra power and comfort.
