North End I-15 | money saving habits . Only one phone , extentions cost more money , heat only one room at a time in the house , only one light on at a time . No yard light . One year for halloween he and family were off "tricker treating ". (only way his kids got their years supply of Candy , hit the houses in town . )
I drove up to his place and turned on every light in the house . I never said a word to any one and he didn't mention it . Next year we were gone but came home to find every light on the whole farm turned on. Shop , Quonset , closets etc. I asked his wife and she said the year before when he saw all the lights on the house from about 3 miles out ,he drove like the devil to get home . He thought the place was on fire ! he had never seen it so well lit up in his entire life :>)
After he retired he was a completely different person . A lot more fun :>)
