I think it's a great idea, more people need to figure this one out. Everyone around here seems to think they need to take a 350/3500 truck 100 miles to pick up a gear box or a feeder chain from the dealer, despite the machine sitting at home in the shop (not even like they need to run through the field to get to it).

I'm not saying a farm can go without a pick-up, just saying people over-use them, and often the amount of money they'd save in fuel, could pay for another vehicle(car/van).

Couple of years ago Dad went out and bought himself a new Jetta TDI(55-60mph), got tired of paying $100 on gas every 2-3 days(F-150 crew) to commute for work. We've still got 3 trucks ('00 F-150 ext, '04 F-150 crew, '05 F-350 crew), but whenever possible we use the car.
