SW Ontario | How do you know the new employer will be a more enjoyable place to work? Everywhere has its issues and they may not fully come out until you start working at the new job for a bit.
I also work a office job, Monday- Friday off by 430.. No overtime, no staying late, if I need to leave for farm emergency I just leave and text boss what I am up too. I do enjoy where I work which is a big factor but I am not sure I could handle a job that didn't provide the flexibility that I have now.
Do you see a time or do you have a goal to ever work on the farm only? If you do and its in the shorter term I would likely stick it out where you are, if as you mentioned you still have 30 years to go, then I think you should look into something that makes you happier.
The potential new job that you have in mind doesnt need to be the only place you look, you may get lucky and find a more enjoyable workplace with the same flexibilty that you have now.
