| A lot of bad times and bad memories. PCA foreclosed on an uncle. Came and got all the equipment. They wouldn't even let him get his lunch box out of the pickup. One hundred percent right about selling out guys that could survive to write down loans on the ones actually insolvent. We survived by doing custom haying and selling small baled hay to a broker that had a contract with the Denver zoo and some wildlife research deals. A job every day all summer long.
Could it happen again? Land prices have largely decoupled from production value. If for some reason land has to once again pay its way, I could see a major train wreck. | |
