Subject: Okay....lets look at this rationally for a second (heaven forbid)

Brazilton KS
Why is it that every time this whole rent discussion comes up, there's all this condemnation for anyone who pays "too much?"

Who gets to decide what is "too much?"

Is one supposed to deal fairly with others?

Does dealing fairly mean paying a fair price?

If one tries to pay less then a fair price, isn't one attempting to take advantage of the other party in the transaction?

Since when did taking advantage of someone who probably has less information then you become an admirable trait in the agtalk community?

How does one get the nerve to blame someone other then himself or the owner over the deal when the owner decides he is not paying enough?

Do you really think landowners are not aware of what the going rates are in the area, and who is looking to rent land? If by chance you have landowners who fit this, do you not feel any obligation to take their best interests in consideration and do your best to be fair to them, in spite of their lack of knowledge?

Okay....have fun, I'm gonna be off line for a while! If you are going to attack me, please at least try to use a little bit of reasoning in your replies.
