I agree with much of what you said, and we may have to lean on each other as hard as we once did. Or in my case my ancestors. The schools dwindling, the stores closing, it is sad. Worse in your area than mine, but the only reason it is different is natural gas. I like the lifestyle and the 'country' way but I refuse to sit here and not defend those who are trying to make it, those who are trying to open doors of opportunity. We all have neighbors who are not the most transparent when it comes to their ways. I don't like that. We ALL lose and gain ground over time. I just do not like the idea that big is bad. Maybe he has kids that want to farm someday. My parents have made changes in their operation based on what future generations wanted. As did their parents. It is such a fine line to walk. I try and treat poeple how I want to be treated. I also know that business is business and some people will take it very emotionally. I just really do not like the idea that because an operation is big or growing or actively seeking ground makes them bad people. I think that is a very irrational thought process and not fair to that party.
