Took a trip to NYC while in college. Was walking back to the hotel after a show and took a shortcut past the Tribune or whatever newspaper, anyway, walked by some bum and after we passed him he turned around and started screaming that we looked at him wrong. We kept on walking and he started walking after us. I was ready to deck him if he got close, but some workers at the newspaper were taking their smoke break and they hollored at the guy to leave us alone. The guy turned around mumbling and went the other way. Don't know what set him off. Saw a few muggings in broad daylight on a busy street there, too so its not just the bad parts of town at night that you have to be careful in.
