Could it be that the batteries are fully charged and the voltage regulator is not allowing the alternator to put anything out? .
No, the battery is not fully charged at 12.3 or 12.6V. Hook up terminals 1, 2 and "I" to B+, along with B+ being hooked to the B+ wire wo that it has 12V as you said. With the truck running, it should put out 14V or the alternator is not functioning. Double check the voltage on the other terminals if you don't get 14V. This is for testing, it will drain the battery while off as CCJersey stated. Once the alternator is working, then you can figure why the truck is not supplying the excite voltage. |
