This is what is mounted behind the air intake on the passenger side. I honestly have no idea what the wires are that are going to it. I did cross reference the number on there and it says it’s a starter exciter I believe.

I apologize I haven’t been able to try everyone’s suggestions. Unfortunately it runs by putting a trickle charge on it every night so at this time of year it’s falling to the bottom of the pile of things that get fixed. I’ll have a little more time next week to take a look at all these ideas.

Thank you to everyone who has made a suggestion. I haven’t fixed anything yet but I have sure learned a lot.


That if yu put a test light on it will be the starter relay will light up the output side with the key on

or it's the relay for the cab power

if it goes bad ,but it should not be what is keeping the alt from charging
