I’m starting to believe you are on the right path here with the 2 wire thing…. I looked at the one I took off and the one I’m hooking up and they are the exact same thing. The paperwork says Delco 22SI 3 wire hookup with IR (I assume that means internal regulator).

I’m starting to believe that there is a problem getting this thing to excite as I only have 2 wires coming out. I believe one goes to the Bat and one goes to the ground. If it’s a 3 wire alternator, which 3 posts are required to have wires going to them in order to work?
