No, he is 100% correct. I am going to be blunt here. The OP has a history of being on the neurotic side. I base this on reading many of his posts on Machinery Talk over the years. He is a quintessential overthinker and those guys are typically pretty edgy. So we have a guy who is wound too tight anyhow, driving like a maniac with his children in a car that weighs way more than he might think, on a surface with limited traction, in a newer car that he may not be totally used to yet.

Yes, it could be a fault with the car, but I would put my money on the fault being his.

Either way, Tesla collects data on EVERYTHING those cars do in order to develop and perfect their self-driving system. I would not be surprised if his insurance company contacts Tesla to get data on the accident. That should settle it either way.
