If they would have gone under or if there never were never subsidies what would the land use be currently?
What was the crop mix prior to the 1990’s when the current high rate of insurance subsidy program was enacted? Or even better prior to 1985 and some of the CRP programs? How does the food output compare then vs now?
Even better would be what was grown prior to 1933 and the beginning of the farm programs as we know them.
