Back in the 70's we would wave at the pilots of the C-130's flying low and slow out of Minneapolis when they would make a sharp turn over our place and head SW...and the pilots would wave back. They would fly in groups of three or four. The leaves on the trees would sometimes move. And boy were they loud.
