Aberdeen MS | Never having been around any fighter jets previously, planes yes.. just not fighter jets.
My dorm room was on the north side 5th floor of what was then West Highrise, the third one built. It was the north west one of the now 4.
I was woken up at 5 AM to "loud booms/cracks". Looked out the window (wide open view to the apron of Runway 36) to see 2 orange dots in the distance.
Asking later on what I actually saw, was told it was the Happy Hooligans taking off in their 101's.
Fast forward to the 75/76 school year when I took Intro to Flight, ground school and 8 hours of dual time, for 6 credits did I get an actual close up a few times during my lessons. | |
