We are 30 miles N of Altus Air Force training base. Have had C5's tip wings almost touching the ground as they turned around.
When I was on the wheat harvest cutting a little west of Cordell I would watch those huge planes going slow and low in the western horizon. I did not realize they were coming out of Altus till the third year I was there. My son’s son in law is in the fueling wing in Wichita. He just got back from spending a couple weeks training at Altus. |
