Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | I never saw it myself but several in the area used to tell about bombers making practice runs evading radar in the valleys. They told about being up out of the valley and all you saw was the tail of the plane.
Our valleys are not all that deep so the planes must have been flying just over the tree tops.
I do remember the sonic booms.
Both of these occurred in the 60’s and early 70’s. |
