oregon | F-102's used to be a common occurrence here and they would go supersonic with a sonic boom that would rattle windows. That was in the 60's.
In the 70's, F4 Phantoms operated. I once saw one flying very low and then turn directly away from me with its' tailpipes glowing and it looked like it was headed to intercept an airliner going east, way up there. I smiled to myself and decided that would be something I would like to fly.
I'd see FB-111's out in the desert doing their nap-of-the-earth maneuvers.
B-52's would swing by about every day on the same route.
Hueys, Apaches, Blackhawks etc. have done and still do routine maneuvers around here.
