I wondered how that worked as well. I thought that for plowboy's setup the the flow control valve was smart enough to know what the flow rate was and disregard pressure but I somehow doubt that is right. As for Dr.Zhivago's setup, I think somewhere in there he mentioned that his pump was not the tractor but was instead mounted on the planter and was ground driven. I would assume that it was sized appropriately to pump the correct volume and he would change the rate with sprockets on the drive chain for the pump.
