East of Broken Bow | The way dpilot described his experience makes me believe it happened just as he said, and this is why:
I had an old farm truck with hydraulic brakes have the brakes fail, and I would describe the incident EXACTLY as you have:
Hit the pedal, and felt nothing, (ok, nothing, but the pedal hit resistance and the braking effect was 'nothing'.
Then I also did exactly as you did, pumped the brakes, probably a couple times, then hit the pedal HARD, and coasted right through the intersection (fortunately no traffic and an open area where I could see there was no traffic). Just like you, as soon as I hit the brakes, I had the gut feeling I was going to roll right on through, and sure enough, I did.
In my case, a mechanic verified it was a stuck valve in the hydro-vac that gave me less than zero boost.
Hopefully, they can figure out what happened with your car. | |
