Seaford, Delaware | First thing is forget the heat pump unless you like sitting around in the winter with blankets or opt for a more expensive groundwater system instead of air to air. Baseboard heat with oil fired furnace is what I have and love it! A couple of other things I would consider:
2x6 walls for additional insulation.
Pella high-efficiency windows.
2x12 floor joists with 3/4" T&G Fir plywood glued and screwed for solid non-squeak floors.
lots and lots of outlets. they are cheap now.
prewire house for alarm, tv, etc.
three car attached garage. Put your boiler out there to keep it warm! I only have a two car so my trucks sits outside in the winter.
200 amp transfer switch for future generator.
Wish I had incorporated a mud room to come into before entering the house for boots, coats, etc.
Outside spotlights mounted in the 4 corners. If you have kids you will appreciate them.
Fireplace if it's in the budget. Expensive to add later!
Thats all I can think of for now!
