ECIL
We just had a new furnace & AC put in our home to replace the original units from 1991. We did it because of the tax credit, energy rebates, and because of their age. The thinking was either replace them now and gain the $$$ benefits or replace later full out of pocket. It was an upgrade in efficiency too. The unit we had put in has a variable speed fan that runs at a low speed 24/7 unless the furnace heat kicks on. We have definitely noticed how the basement, main floor, and upstairs are all now at the same temperature. A multspeed fan doesn't do this. The units we had put in are made by Goodman. They have a good warranty too. So far, so good.
