Sure you can get some very good beef if you have access to enough grass. But the problem in most of the midwest is the land that will provide that amount of grass is too valuable to just graze cattle on it. It doesn't take as much land to run a feedlot and most of the fat cattle buyers are satisfied with the quality. That's the bottom line.
