Barry County, MI | I was 8 dad was hit head on by a drunk driver bros 6 and 3 dad was 28 he was going to see about buying a tractor. as he was a saw miller logger farmer he was a ww 11 vet .He worked with horses He had built a house in 49 and 50 so we had a 800 sq ft, 2 bedroom house with bath . his mother died a few months after his birth in 1926 and was kind of raised by the community after he was 8 Id guess . his dad was a very not so nice a guy. he had a pony so he would live with various farmers in the community he worked for room and board for him and his pony. Kind of an interesting story of his life . probably thousands of others like him in those days, I was sent to the cemetery to help dig his grave, The worst thing about it is you can remember the wreck just like it was yesterday, and if you talk about those things it makes you sad , My mother lived till 1995 and it wasn't sudden so it went much better . archie | |
