Chippewa County, MN | I was 33, Dad was 68. He died suddenly and unexpectedly less than a month before harvest. Rather than offering help, neighbors ran to my landlords telling them I couldn’t handle all that land by myself. Fortunately the landlords all said they’d wait to hear from me. I too was going to go broke in the next few years. I bought out the estate, kept all the land, dug in and worked mega hours over the next several years and survived.
