How about too many guns and ease of access to the many guns?

We don’t seem to have a Sherman tank problem

In the UK they have restricted access to guns and they have a stabbing problem. Think about all the knife attacks in Europe that were in the news a few years ago. There are many instruments that can cause great bodily harm in this world. If we are going to ban anything that might inflict bodily harm we will have no knives, no cars, 98% of tools would need to be outlawed.

I still believe we need to address the root causes of violence. What is it in a persons psyche that causes them to feel so outraged or depressed that they want to take a life? Look at violent video games, look at graphic depictions of violent acts in movies. We are desensitized to violence. Then you take that desensitization and couple it with a disconnect from their community and a lack of meaning and purpose in their lives and you have a recipe for disaster.

Just my $.02
