This will be an unpopular answer, but our founding fathers already gave us answer’s. I believe Thomas Jefferson said the tree of Liberty must be watered with patriots and tyrants - in other words, in order to have the blessings of a free society, there are times when bad things happen, because people abuse the rights they are afforded. Second John Adams said “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Which is very interesting, because as a general rule the group of people who want to take away freedom in our founding documents, are the same ones out to purge the country of any mention of God or the religious history of the country.

Our system of government was designed to stop overreach of the state, would you rather have a system that limits the power of the state, or limits the power of the individual? You can’t have both. Our historical restrictions on individuals (murder, theft, crimes) were derived from common law, which has its foundation in both religion and the commonly perceived (for generations) ideas of right and wrong. When you attack those ideas, you effectively have no law other than government say-so. Look at Atlanta - you have riots because someone opened fire on police and fire was returned - this should be a no brainer- but here we are having riots, because the foundation of our system of laws has been undermined.
