OK, give some proof of that. That sounds more like rumor than fact. Shotgun? Handgun? Hunting rifle? Or the scary black rifle?
In Iowa, if you want a handgun or the dreaded, scary, black rifle, you must either provide your current and valid CCW permit to take the firearm with you, or wait for the application and background check to be cleared.
I haven't bought a shotgun or hunting rifle in a few years, so I don't know what the current laws are for those. But the last shotguns and hunting rifles I bought had no restrictions like background checks.
What is this "drive to another county" bs you are talking about? Where are you located that you can do that?
