Floyd County, Iowa | I've driven in DC, Chicago, Indianapolis, Atlanta, St Louis, Milwaukee, Kansas City, Twin Cities, Des Moines, among others. No experience west of Kansas City, though.
IMO, they all suck if the population is over 1000, LOL.
That said, I hit the DC beltway at 4pm on a Sunday. Wrong time to do that. I left finger prints in the steering wheel padding. But when I did Atlanta, it was smooth as glass and no holdups or issues. I think it just depends on timing. The Twin Cities can be good, bad, or as ugly as the beltway was.
I've also found that some DOTs are better at common sense signage, and some couldn't give directions to the edge of town. | |
