| Needed a 39' span of pipe for an irrigator last spring. The ONLY one on anyone's computer inventory turned out to be in San Antonio, Tx. Loaded the Mrs. into a pickup and hooked up a 40' header trailed and took off from central Kansas heading south. 700 miles.
San Antonio is a BIG and growing city, with expressways heading off every which way at just about any moment. Good thing Mom had gps on her telephone. We hit town well after dark and into the night. Seemed like it took nearly another hour to find A. the hotel and B. the yard in the industrial section of town where the pipe was. No time for Margaritas or Mexican food.....got loaded the next morning and headed back out. Pulling that 40 header trailer through that traffic was a chore. I'm sure that it would be a lot better in the daylight, and without the trailer, AND if a person knew where he was going.....but it was a challenging experience for us at the time and under our circumstances. lol showboat
