IN | as well as a balance of other traits. The disposition issue is well on the way to being a non-issue. I have been breeding mostly purebred cows for 25 years and feel late maturity and fertility are the traits holding back the purebreds, not disposition.
The last two or three years I have AI'd to Angus bulls and can tell you the 1/2 bloods are noticeably higher strung and "goosy" as compared to the purebreds. I don't think I have ever been kicked by my limi calves but watch out for those sharp little black hooves.
You sure do knock the butt and tops out of them with one cross though. But they feed really well. I feel the two breeds complement each other better than any combination I could try. They are easier fleshing and seem to be more fertile than the straight breds. Just what I was wanting to "fix."
I love these 1/2 blood females and am going to experiment on them with 1/2 and higher black Limi bulls.
