I wouldn't worry about calving difficulty with red angus bulls. Hard calving red angus bulls are out there but they are the exception, not the rule. My best guess is that you probably would not have much trouble putting an english breed on a continental. The reds aren't quite as high priced as the blacks but you should still be prepared to pay up pretty good for a quality red angus bull.
