E.Central MN | When this was discussed 10-15 years ago I'd have agreed with you. But since that time a lot of things have changed. Sure the big farmers have gotten bigger, but a lot of mid-size guys and some small guys have done ok, too. The market has changed which hasn't always benefitted the big guys. Exports and ethanol have made a huge impact. We're no longer selling a simple commodity that is in surplus around the world, now buyers have to compete(at least a little) for what we produce. The big guys have a lot more product to sell....they don't always sell at the highs either, ask a lot of them how they did on last years crop. The future looks interesting. | |
