The push is always to remove contact until later and later in sports.
I think that is the opposite of what should be done.
Let the kids learn how to tackle/and take a tackle when there isn't such a discrepancy in size, strength etc.
I played football into college. Also, played college rugby.
Had 4 concussion. 3 major. Wasn't fun at the time dealing with that, but definitely would do it again.
Only long-term problems I have are my shoulders and neck.
My two younger boys play football and hockey. Lots of contact obviously. I am happy they started as early as they did in both.
My oldest graduated last year. He wrestled and played football. Time flies.
Enjoy the few years your kids can play, because its over so quickly.
