NE Iowa | I let my son play. I was t concerned about getting hurt and he was one of the smaller kids back then. The thing I hate the most about tackling at this age is the kids are really too young to be taught how to properly tackle. Half of them are afraid of hitting someone and they just kind of party cake the ball carrier as he goes by. This I believe has led to poor tackling technique when they are older.
Let’s face it though, football ain’t what it used to be. If the rules of today were applied back when I played I don’t think I’d have finished one game. We used to light people up and you get tossed for those kinds of hits nowadays. | |
