Mostly hogs can't compete with cattle when bidding on Distillers grain.

Hogs can't make use of the bypass protein that is in distillers grain so it is basically a substitute for corn vs a substitute for protein in cattle diets. It also cuts down on ROG slightly.

We have fed some DDGs in the past but for the most part the minimal cost savings aren't worth the hassle unless you have a really cheap source. Around here there are enough cattle that distillers never really gets cheaper $/lb than corn.

Not sure of how much meat & bone meal is in our premix but I could find out. I don't think it is much but I will post back.

Oh and right now there is no profit margin, it's a loss margin and its rather largeCry
