Eastern Ohio | Their was a mention about trying something differnt, why not make it a % tied to the markets. If the beef bds want more, they have to make the markets move.
The beef checkoff has done nothing for eastern Ohio cattle, our markets this fall were between .69 &.89. for feeders. The topps at one sale for Angus source verified, twice vaccinated, bunk broke and 6 weeks weaned were .75. As for attending and participating in cattlemen associations, how can anyone take these groups seriously, when board members make bull decisions on hair lenght and color with known genetic defects, (clubbie calves). I hate to say this but maybe this industry needs mandatory cool, and a mandatory premiss id program to weed out the ncba's yes men. | |
