Actually, I had a high school physics teacher like that.  And I will say that he was a "rare gift" indeed.  After entering college, I realized how much that teacher helped me prepare for success in college.  We began our year in physics by him "spoon-feeding us"; and by the end of the year, he would say "any questions on yesterday's assignment?  If not, for tomorrow read chapter______ , and do questions # _____. 

Like I say, I look back and realize he taught me more than physics.
