Driftless SW Wisconsin

Roy, I sold one private treaty and took the other two to Bloomington and yes I weighed them, on Monday.

I suspect there will  be some shrink as there always is when I take them for processing especially when there is an overnight stay. Bloomington preg checks, feeds and waters them ahead of the bred cow sale on Friday.

They will have had some time there so it will be interesting to see what the actual sale weights on these two come out to be. I have not had any problem with their sale weights yet.

I wonder if the several days stay lets them recover a bit from what the typical overnight shrink would be. I think the bred cow sales may be priced by the head rather than by the pound though.

edit: thinking about shrink - I have had the best beef and least shrink when I load steers going for processing on the trailer in the early morning, drive to the processor, unload and they go through the door in just a few minutes. I am going to try to avoid any overnight stays ahead of processing.
