Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | In that same vein, the National Guard has excellent educational benefits, training, physical fitness programs, and if it's a good fit as his life progresses, so that he stays in for the full 20-year term, an excellent retirement as well. Initial committment is 6 years, and can most likely count on at least one deployment in that timeframe, unless current issues change significantly.
