Blooming where I am planted! | Good points. And, if possible, he should try to think about becoming good at one thing that employers will pay decent money for. In my career I've bounced around and can be easily qualified to be a corporate trainer, an analyst, and a salesperson. I haven't specialized enough in one thing continuously, and employers sometimes have a hard time seeing that a person will be good for one certain job if the candidate hasn't done that one thing for a long time. Employers say they want someone who is "well-rounded" but really, they don't. They want specific skill sets, especially as the person has had more years out in the working world. Right now I think that is working against me. |
